The
highest-attended annual sporting event in the world, the US Open is a thrill for
spectators. New Yorkers and tourists alike enjoy the excitement that the
best players in the world bring to the USTA National Tennis Center. One of
four Grand Slam events in tennis, the US Open tennis tournament began in 1881,
making it one of the oldest tennis championships in the world. It is held
annually in August and September over a two-week period. Since 1978, the tournament has been
played on acrylic hard court at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center
at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in the Queens borough of New York City. Come to
