UEFA Euro 2008 Tickets (European Cup Tickets)

How many Euro 2008 tickets will be available for UEFA EURO 2008™?
In total, over one million UEFA Euro2008 tickets will be available for UEFA EURO 2008™. Around 75 per cent of the Euro2008 tickets will be available directly for the supporters through our website or through the National Associations that will participate in the final tournament.

Ticket s Options available.

To provide football supporters with the best possible service, UEFA has developed three Ticket opportunities for UEFA EURO 2008™.  (Source Euro2008.com) Most (75%) of the Euro2008 tickets will be made available to the general public by application and lottery described in more detail below. Approximately 19% of the Euro 2008 tickets will be made available to qualifying countries.

Individual Match Tickets
Applicants can create their own combination of matches, as they best fit their requirements. For example, Applicants can choose all matches in their favourite city or matches within a certain period of time. Please note that it is not allowed to select two matches that take place on the same day.

Follow My Team Group Tickets
FMT Group allows Applicants to attend all three Group Matches of their favourite team. If their team does not qualify for UEFA EURO 2008™, their Applications  for such UEFA EURO 2008 Tickets will be cancelled.

Tournament (Follow My Team Tournament Tickets)
Tournament allows Applicants to attend all the matches of their favourite team all the way to the Final, depending on how they progress in the tournament. If their team is eliminated before the Final, the remaining UEFA EURO 2008 Tickets become invalid and they will be reimbursed accordingly. If their team does not qualify for UEFA EURO 2008™, their Application will be cancelled.

UEFA EURO 2008 Tickets For Handicapped Persons  (Wheelchairs). A limited number of UEFA Euro 2008 Tickets are available through UEFA exclusively for those who are unable to attend a match without a wheelchair due to their physical handicap.

Such Tickets are available in the cheapest price category (price category 3). Moreover, an additional complimentary ticket is provided for an accompanying person. If demand exceeds supply for Tickets for wheelchair spaces at a particular match, all such Tickets for that match shall be allocated by random selection via a lottery. In any case, a valid proof of disability will be required.


UEFA Euro 2008 tickets—Home Advantage for local fans

People living in the eight UEFA EURO 2008™ host cities will get home advantage for Euro2008 ticketing - with 750 seats at each game being set aside for local residents. UEFA Euro 2008 tickets will be set aside for 'home' fans at the stadiums in Vienna, Klagenfurt, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Zurich, Basle, Berne and Geneva, with applicants going into a special pre-draw for their share of the local allocation of Euro 2008 tickets. Unsuccessful applicants will then be given a second chance to get a Euro 2008 ticket as their applications will automatically go into the general draw for Euro2008 tickets.
Eligibility for local Euro2008 tickets will be decided on the basis of postcodes in some cities, with others being open to all city residents.

Huge Demand for Euro 2008 Tickets. UEFA has announced on its web site that every single match at the finals has been massively oversubscribed after over 500,000 fans applied for UEFA EURO 2008™ tickets via euro2008.com.

A total of 588,716 supporters from 142 countries submitted applications for Euro 2008 tickets before the deadline at midnight on 31 March, ordering a total of 10,359,177 Euro2008  tickets. That is 18 times the demand for UEFA EURO 2004™ tickets and almost as much as for tickets for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, where 10.8 million tickets were requested.

Individual  UEFA Euro 2008 tickets
Of the three types of UEFA Euro 2008 tickets - Individual Match Euro 2008 Tickets, Follow My Team Group and Follow My Team Tournament Euro 2008 tickets - the former have been the most popular, with 417,885 applicants requesting 8,467,919 such tickets for the 31 matches. The final in Vienna accounted for 651,141 Euro 2008 ticket requests, with 561,565 UEFA Euro 2008 tickets for the semi-final in Basle and 502,081 for the semi in Vienna.

Dedicated supporters
The Follow My Team Euro 2008 tickets proved to be particularly popular with supporters from Germany, Switzerland, England, the Netherlands and Austria. A total of 119,110 fans requested Follow My Team Group Euro 2008 tickets - a total of 1,224,564 Euro 2008 tickets applications - while 51,721 ordered Follow My Team Tournament Uefa Euro 2008 tickets, accounting for a further 666,694 tickets.

Next steps
As predicted, all 31 final round games were oversubscribed at the end of the application process. The validity of applications will now be checked with 33 per cent of the total 1.05 million Euro 2008 tickets being allocated by a random lottery in mid-April under the supervision of a notary. All users will be informed of the status of their Euro2008 ticket applications by the end of April.

Phase abandoned
Because of the huge initial demand for Euro 2008 tickets, the second phase of Euro 2008 tickets sales - initially planned to allocate unsold Euro 2008 tickets on a first come, first served basis in June 2007 - has now been abandoned. Fans may still be able to get Euro 2008 tickets via national associations, who will receive an average of 19 per cent of UEFA Euro 2008 tickets for all matches involving their team which may be sold to fans after the draw for the finals in December 2007.

Delivery of UEFA Euro 2008 tickets.  The recipients of UEFA Euro 2008 tickets from UEFAwill be receive their Euro 2008 tickets approximately two weeks before the tournament begins. Such Euro2008 tickets will be sent via registered mail.

Transfer of UEFA Euro2008 Tickets.  Transfer of Euro2008 tickets are allowed under limited circumstances as fully described on the event web site.
